Privacy
Policy
The short version. ChargeTok has no sign-up and no user accounts. Your favorites, your imported videos, your charge history and your settings are stored on your iPhone and are not sent to us. We don't run ads, we don't use advertising or analytics trackers, and we don't sell or share your data. The only personal information connected to ChargeTok at all is the subscription record Apple creates if you buy Pro.

1. Who we are
ChargeTok ("we", "us") is an iPhone app that plays an animation on your screen while your phone charges. This policy explains how we handle information when you use the app and this website (chargetok.com).
For any privacy question, write to support@chargetok.com.
2. Information that stays on your device
Most of what ChargeTok knows about you never leaves your iPhone. We cannot see any of it:
- Your battery level and charging state. Read from iOS to draw the animation and show a real percentage. Used in the moment, on the device.
- Your charge history. Session times and charge rates, used to build your stats and to calculate the time-to-full estimate.
- Your favorites and settings. Which animations you've hearted, which one is set as your charge screen, and your app preferences.
- Videos you import. If you make one of your own videos into a charge screen, the video is copied into ChargeTok's private storage on your phone. It is never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
Deleting the app removes all of it.
3. Information we or our providers receive
Subscription purchases
If you buy ChargeTok Pro, the purchase is made through Apple. We never see your name, your email address or your payment details — Apple handles the transaction and does not pass those to us.
We use RevenueCat to check whether a subscription is active so the app can unlock Pro features. RevenueCat receives your purchase history — what was bought, when, and whether it is still active — associated with an anonymous identifier that RevenueCat generates for your installation. That identifier is not your name, your email or your Apple Account. This data is used only to make the app work, is not linked to your identity, and is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites. RevenueCat's own privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Downloading new animations
New animations are delivered from our content server at cdn.chargetok.com. Like
any request to any website, that server receives the technical information needed to send the
file back — your IP address, the file requested, and the time of the request. We use this only
to deliver content and keep the service running and secure. We do not use it to build a profile
of you, and we do not combine it with anything else.
This website
chargetok.com is hosted by Vercel. Vercel's servers keep standard request logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability. We do not set advertising cookies on this site.
4. What we do not do
To be specific, because in this category it matters:
- We do not show ads, and there are no advertising SDKs in the app.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites. ChargeTok does not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt because it has nothing to ask for.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
- We do not require an account, an email address or a phone number.
- We do not read your photo library. See the next section.
- We do not collect your health data, and we make no claims about your battery's health.
5. Permissions ChargeTok asks for
- Photos. Only if you choose to import your own video. iOS shows you its own picker, and ChargeTok receives only the specific video you select. We never get access to your wider library.
- Notifications (optional). Used only for charge-session alerts you turn on yourself.
You can change or revoke any of these at any time in iOS Settings.
6. Why we process information
Where the law requires a legal basis (for example the UK and EU GDPR), we rely on:
- Performance of a contract — to deliver the app and the Pro features you paid for, including verifying your subscription.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and deliver content reliably.
- Legal obligation — where we must keep records or respond to a lawful request.
7. How long information is kept
On-device data lives on your phone until you delete it or delete the app. Subscription records are kept by Apple and RevenueCat for as long as needed to service and account for the subscription. Server request logs are kept for a short period for security and diagnostics, and then discarded.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to your data protection authority.
Because ChargeTok has no account system, the fastest route is usually direct:
- Delete everything on device — delete the app.
- Manage or cancel a subscription — in the App Store, under your Apple Account, Subscriptions.
- Anything else — email support@chargetok.com and we'll help. We may need to ask for the App Store receipt or transaction ID to locate a subscription record, since that is the only identifier we have.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
9. Children
ChargeTok is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
Our providers (Apple, RevenueCat, Cloudflare, Vercel) operate globally, so the limited information described above may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, those transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how ChargeTok handles information, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. If the change is significant — for example if we ever add analytics — we'll say so plainly in the app's release notes rather than quietly editing this page.
